Technical Specifications

Turbine Smoothness
The Rolls-Royce RR300 turbine engine delivers exceptionally smooth power delivery with minimal vibration, creating a refined flying experience that passengers and pilots alike appreciate.
Hot & High Performance
Superior performance in challenging conditions. The turbine engine maintains power at high altitudes and temperatures where piston engines struggle, making it ideal for mountain operations.
5-Seat Capability
The largest cabin in the Robinson lineup offers five-seat capacity with comfortable spacing. Rear passengers enjoy excellent visibility through large windows.
A Rolls-Royce with headroom, on purpose.
The RR300 produces more power than the R66 asks of it, and Robinson caps it below that limit on purpose. No carb heat or complex engine routine to learn. The result is a takeoff chart at 6,000 ft density altitude that reads the same as sea level.
Flat-rated on purpose: same takeoff figures at 6,000 ft as sea level. No carb heat, no complexity.

The simplest turbine cockpit in production.
Garmin G500H TXi, digital engine monitoring, TAWS, ADS-B. All factory, all integrated.
G500H TXi, TAWS, ADS-B. Factory fit, fully integrated.

Spacious cargo hold and underseat storage.
Three hundred pounds of secure baggage loaded from outside the cabin, plus roughly fifty pounds of underseat stowage for personal items. Rifle cases, camera rigs, golf clubs, overnight bags. They ride in the aircraft, not on pilot laps.
300 lb external cargo hold plus underseat stowage. Rifle cases, camera rigs, golf clubs. In the aircraft, not on laps.

Five seats, one more than the R44.
The R66 is not the largest light turbine on the market, but stepping from four seats to five changes what the aircraft can do for you. Forward-facing, adult-sized, with a useful load that holds up once everyone is aboard. Where the R44 leaves a passenger on the ground, the R66 keeps the trip intact.
Five seats instead of four. The extra seat changes what the aircraft can do. No one gets left behind.

An auxiliary tank makes it a transport.

An auxiliary tank makes it a transport.
The 43.5-gallon auxiliary tank extends range to roughly 550 nautical miles and endurance past five hours. London to the Highlands, the Alps, or the South of France on a single tank, single leg.
Aux tank: ~550 NM, five hours endurance. London to the Highlands on a single leg.
A turbine you can actually afford to fly.
Operators put real hours on R66s because the per-hour maths works. Jet-A burn, Robinson-priced inspections and a TBO that arrives on schedule, not before.

Buying a Robinson R66 in the UK
HQ Aviation sells the Robinson R66 Turbine both ways: factory-new aircraft configured to your specification, and pre-owned examples inspected in our CAA Part-145 workshop before sale. We are a Robinson Authorised Dealer and Service Centre, and a Rolls-Royce RR300 Authorised Service Centre, at Denham Aerodrome, 30 minutes from central London, and we take trade-ins.
R66 buyer FAQs
How much does a new Robinson R66 cost?
Robinson’s indicative list runs from around $1,456,000 for the Southwood edition to about $1,777,500 for the limited Riviera, before options and VAT. Live pound pricing per edition is on our helicopter sales page.
What engine powers the R66, and who services it in the UK?
A single Rolls-Royce RR300 turboshaft (300 shp class). HQ Aviation is a Rolls-Royce RR300 Authorised Service Centre as well as a Robinson Authorised Service Centre, so engine and airframe are looked after under one CAA Part-145 roof at Denham.
What is the R66’s range?
Around 350 nautical miles on standard fuel, extending to roughly 550 nm with the auxiliary tank, and a five-seat cabin, the largest in the Robinson lineup.
What is the R66 overhaul clock?
The R66 reaches its overhaul at 2,000 flight hours or 12 calendar years, whichever comes first. Remaining life on that clock is the biggest driver of used value.
I fly the R44. What does moving to the R66 take?
A type rating: a short conversion with type-specific ground school and a minimum of five flight hours, run at Denham. Many owners trade in their R44 against the R66, and we value any Robinson, usually within a working day.
